Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone! Hope that you are having a great Christmas time with friends and family. We are going to be spending time with Josh's family, my family and friends too. It will be very busy but also very fun. It is so great to watch our kids experience Christmas.

I think this is number 13 of 22 attempts! Our friends were taking the picture and making crazy faces to get Paul to smile.

We have started to pack up a few of our things as we are pretty sure that we have someone to stay in our house while we are gone! This is a huge answer to prayer for us. Tonight we sat down and made some lists of things we have to do before we go. The lists are long and there is not much time left! On the top of the list is buy our airline tickets. We are waiting until after the first of the year to purchase them. That will be a very exciting day! When we have a travel date we will post it and the true count down will begin. It is hard to not have a date yet.

We are also preparing to go to Colorado Springs January 10-20 for training at eMi (Engineering Ministries International) headquarters. This will include cultural communication, overseas finances and meeting face to face with the engineers and architects that will be Josh's support team when we are in the Philippines. While we are there we will meet with eMi staff members who have constructed projects in foreign countries. We are excited to learn from their wisdom so that we might avoid or minimize problems that will arise.

God is answering our prayers financially! Our goal is almost met, only about $2000 is needed. It doesn't matter if there is a recession, God still cares about orphans and widows. We are in awe to see Him at work before our eyes. Lord willing, it will not be long before more abandoned and rescued children will have a safe haven in Rehoboth Children's Home, and a chance to have a forever family. That is what this is all about- babies, toddlers and children that need food, shelter, love and a family.

I pray that you and your family will be reminded of the Gift that we all have been given as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior!

Merry Christmas!

  1. Thanks for the update! We would love to have the kids come play some day so you all can get all the 'stuff' done before the departure day hits.
